RE: First Manchester
Looking on the Traveline website at the 425 timetable for September, as there is a Route and Timetable change on VOSA, and it looks like (unless Traveline have made an error) that Monday-Saturday daytime journeys won't call at Oldham bus station. The stops before and after the bus station have a estimated time but under Oldham West Street Bus Station, there is a gap.

If this is the case, then it might be possible that the service is being altered to improve reliability by by-passing the bus station (going up and back down West Street) and just continuing along Rochdale Road and St Mary's Way with passengers having to use stops at the market/sports centre or King Street/Manchester Street

PC0003680/191 - FIRST MANCHESTER LTD T/A FIRST, WALLSHAW STREET, OLDHAM, OL1 3TR
Variation Accepted by SN: Operating between Holts Estate and Fitton Hill, Community Centre given service number 425 effective from 02-Sep-2012. To amend Route and Timetable.

I believe that you can't improve the 36 and 37 time keeping at all, and the Reason will always be Piccadilly gardens. First have talked about gps tracking and inspectors checking along the route. These measures can't control the inbound buses on Piccadilly gardens cn they? 36 and 37 stand is used by god knows how many routes. And very often I blocked and the buses have to go round the block re entering the gardens when the stand is empty. Great ideas first bus have yep. But the practical side of them makes them tough to implement. Whether its a new enviro400 or VolvoB9 running the routes, it won't improve time keeping. Because Piccadilly is. So busy, and that won't change .

That would make sense, Volvo B10BLE's out of QS and perhaps Dart SLF's from another area that are newer than R Plate, perhaps some from Yorkshire or Scotland or Midlands.

I think the P reg Arrows as well if any are left may get replaced by something slighly newer as they are now too old for school work.

Generally what I suspect will happen is that some B9TL's at least will get cascaded away possibly in exchange for newer Midibuses, its also possible I guess that some B7RLE's may go likewise to other fleets.

I guess and I emphacise guess that Manchester will recieve B9TL's that are displaced to cascade B10BLE's to Wigan probably the older batches or the odd balls within them.

Bury might get some but they arent now really needed there as they already have enough B9TL's to service the 471, maybe perhaps a few more could be in order.

B7RLE's would ber cascaded out from the Bury and Bolton stock along with B9TL's from out of the Oldham stock indead three have already gone to London for the 2012 Olympics so may not come back here and instead may go elsewhere, they where 09 Plated examples in the new livery.

Interesting Aberdeen is expecting a number of deckers so it may be possible some of ours are going there.

Bury are to get some more B9s for the 135/471 allocation duties, as the current fleet doesn't meat the requirement. It's no secret that Oldham will be sending some B9s to Bury this information comes from reliable sources employed at First so it's likely it will happen. Although to accommodate these new B9s with Bury being a smaller depot it can only take buses it can realistically park, so you would assume that older scanias may well be leaving.

Also bare in mind that there is whilst nothing confirmed a great deal of in certainty as to the long term future of the citaros remaining at Bury also to be considered

I don't like to speculate as it is always best to wait and see... but... I can see all of BNs 53 B9TLs being replaced with new buses which will then leave 20 Darts and 7 Arrows to be go, These may get replaced by SDs from other depots that are receiving the outgoing B9s.... Time will tell.

I Don't like to speculate myself, all my information is based on solid fact, but of course I totally agree, its a wait and see game.

Did wonder what happened to those B9s now that the other B9s have returned to Oldham from the Olympics.
