I imagine most double deckers probably cost over £100,000 at present, so £2 million might buy 15-20 double deckers, or up to 30-ish single deckers. So not a huge fleet renewal programme - maybe enough to replace more ex-London double-deckers, or a few Cadets ?? It’s a fair bit higher than that. To put it in perspective a dealer stock Enviro 200MMC 10.8m is around £140,000 from Chartwell Bus Sales and that’s without any extra’s that Arriva usually opt for such as blue interior, CCTV screens and leather seating. A new double decker is around the £200,000 mark so you’re looking at a maximum of around 10/12 vehicles |

I think we are in the times of buses getting kept longer, so we will probably see a lot of cadets and commanders retained a lot longer. So the few ex london stock around will be replaced with a few cadets. |

The Enviro 400s which were bought for the 10/10A and 10B cost in the region of £189,200 each. (based off the figures in [url=The Enviro 400s which were bought for the 10/10A and 10B cost in the region of £189,200 each. based off the figures in THIS ARTICLE so you are looking around 10-11 buses for the investment. |

RE: Arriva North West - Green Lane Depot
£2 million sounds a major investment but it will only buy approximately 4 or 5 decent coaches, around 8 or 9 deckers and between 10 and 14 single decks. So in a fleet of around 800 tickles the surface. I would expect 2020/21 orders to be in the region of 50 to 80 units depending on the economic climate politically if Brexit has or has not happened to start natural renewal. The first Pulsars are approaching 12 years old and there's a glut of Commanders and Cadets between 12 and 15. Maybe, Admin and Buses7675, there's a case for opening a new thread titled Arriva 2020 Fleet Renewal to discuss and speculate so we can not detract from this Green Lane one? |
