Apart from being illegal it would be totally impractical and impossible to recruit and train 2000 people to do this type of work in less than a year. My thoughts exactly! Selling part of the business would be a more sensible option as it's legal and realistic |

That's probably the whole idea. They can say with hand on heart that they have restored some services, but with minimal benefit to passengers thus maximum embarrassment to Arriva management. |

RE: Arriva Strike
Does anyone know what the staff have asked for in terms of pay rise & what has been offered? Are they still miles apart? Lots of people are becoming very tired of these strikes now. View my flickr http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/104753198@N08/ my flickr account. |

RE: Arriva Strike
Slight difference today at Southport - whereas last week a limited 44 service was running, today no 44's but the 49 is running a limited service. Unlike last week, nothing so far from Birkenhead. |

Apparently it's to bring different depots on to the same pay so I think it's only former MTL depots who would get the full 3% and apparently Macclesfield staff would get nothing extra even if Arriva meet the union's demands. |
