Their is a burrowing juction prepared for the hopefully soon to be connected edge hill spur, built in the 70's.

Anyone know what the white rectangular things are that have appeared above the doors on some units? Noticed 507004 had them this morning. Thanks.

Noticed this morning 507001 has suffered a graffiti attack on one of the driving cars. Its working the Ormskirk line this morning as a 6 car with 507030.

Rail conditions are quite poor on the Ormskirk line this morning I got the first train from Maghull to Ormskirk formed of 507026 and 508128 and it kept intermittently losing and regaining power between just before Town Green and Ormskirk. There was lots of arcing and smoke and interior lights kept going on and off. Could also hear the resistor fans working overtime so the resistors must have been overheating. The live rail was completely covered with frozen hail.

RE: Merseyrail
With the additional 6 car workings on the Northern Line following the Lime Street incident, the half-hourly New Brighton trains were reduced to 3 cars on Thursday and Friday. I used the .23 diagram off New Brighton on ostensibly both its busiest workings on Thursday: the 8.23 from New Brighton and 17.49 from James Street. I have to say it coped absolutely fine. A handful of standees on each car on both workings, but not enough to justify a 6 car working. I imagine things were a bit 'cosier' on the 17.19 from James Street, but it does suggest a significant drop in passenger numbers on this line since the loop closure began.

This reduction has allowed the much better patronised Ormskirk line to keep its peak time 6 cars.
