Avon Buses
RE: Avon Buses
Just had a ride on both the Avon 173 & 174 newly acquired ex Whippet President Double Deckers. Got the 10.30 from City to County Road and 10.45 from County Road back to the city centre. These services were flithy following their early morning 628 school runs to Hilbre. Feel free to see the pictures on Flickr below. There is no excuse for putting on flithy dirty buses. It sets a bad example. May be the drivers could be issued with a Brush to sweep up following the school runs.

Avon vehicles on the 122 always used to have a sweeping brush stretched across the front of the windscreen and I assume it was the responsibility of the driver to sweep up at the end of the day. In truth, most school buses are in a mess after disgorging the little darlings and I think that ALL operators, especially Arriva and Stagecoach, could take a leaf out of Merseyrail's book and employ cleaners for when the services take their stand time in the city centre.

Sometimes the Merseytravel cleaners at Liverpool ONE and Huyton Bus Station do sweep out the buses for operators - only on days of course but I've seen it happen a few times in the layover areas.

RE: Avon Buses
Spotted Avon 255 in West Kirby today on the 22 towards Chester although the rear number plate wasn't visible and couldn't be seen. It was breaking the Highway Code

Merseyline Travel always had spotless buses I was on one of their Leyland Lynxes on the 35 to Halewood years ago and there was a brush mop and bucket stowed behind the seat at the back of the drivers cab. The drivers must have give the buses a quick clean between trips.
