RE: Merseyrail
I think this will depend upon the type of sets and potential plans to increase the merseyrail network View my flickr http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/104753198@N08/ my flickr account. |

RE: Merseyrail
They were initially looking at only 50 units , with 50 units you would come to a point in the future where the franchise could get to a sticky point , more passengers than units available , to be honest 59 units has to be the minimum i reckon . Dont forget when all the units are in place in 2020 there will be a very marked availability increase . |

RE: Merseyrail
So the day is nearing , this will be a watershed day in the franchise the first full Northern and Wirral fleet replacement for many years . Nearly 40 years ago the Class 507 units come on stream for the Northern Line , but the Wirral Line has to go back even further to 1956 and then that was only a partial new fleet , the rest goes back to the 1930's. This day 16th December 2016 will rewrite Merseyrail history forever which way it goes. |

Indeed today will be a Historical day. The 507s came on stream just before I was born and the 508s just after and im now nearly 38! So these trains have been around all my life and will be the end of an era when theyre gone I will miss them and hope a 507 will be preserved like the 503 at Burscough. |

RE: Merseyrail
Subject to contract completion : Stadler will be building 4 car articulated sets for delivery late 2019 and commissioning in 2020. Each coach will be smaller than the existing coaches im led to believe . Trains will have there own extending ramp at each door way to ensure ease of use for wheelchair and buggy users. |

RE: Merseyrail
Unfortunately not T42 PVM , as newer units they should be more reliable and have a much better availability . Kirkdale and Birkenhead North depots will soon be owned by Stadler as they take the maintaining of the existing units off Merseyrail in mid 2017. |

52 Units are to low when you consider they are just 4 Car and the Network is meant to be expanding For Blog Posts Containing all the latest in the local Bus Scene The 2002 Bus Blog Subscribe to my Youtube Channel, Updated regularly! All my Social Media Links here! https://linktr.ee/TerencePrice |
