Freightliner have been awarded the Mendip Rail (Hanson & Aggregate Industries) contract which will involve the acquirement of 59001/02/04/05 and 59101-04. The DB 59/2s will be dispatched to other operations and could quite possibly end up further north. The 59s transferring to Freightliner will remain the main stay on the Aggregate work but will more than likely be supported on the workings by currently returning to action Class 70s rather than the 59/2s. Freightliner operations of this will begin in November 2019.

76 new MWA box wagons have also been ordered for the flow,29 have just arrived at
Wembley yard,will be used in the general pool until required

It is reported on WNXX that 90003-15 are to transfer to Freightliner when they are released from Anglia.
