How this will affected vehicles and service turn out for tomorrow remains to be seen but can see vehicles having to be drafted in from somewhere so maybe expect some odd workings over the next couple of days while replacement vehicles are sourced.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
Where will 10856 go to be fixed will it go to Hyde Road or have to go back to ADL in either Scotland or Scarborough?
Wonder if a certaiin white Enviro200 will end up covering like it normally does in these instances?

I'm guessing it's probably been drafted in to cover for 19391 following the fire at the weekend.

If they're not entering service until March 1st, shouldn't they be registered on '20' plates? Some haven't even arrived yet.

This never really seams to matter these days, lets not forget both batches of Vantage buses arrived after registration change dates, and still carried the old previous registration plates, admittedly some of the first batch had been used for driver training but the second batch hadn't. I understand large operators do not re-register buses because of the costs involved and also like cars it is cheaper to register a batch under the old plate prior to the new plate coming in, and vehicles are pre-registered and to change them costs extra money. Most of the audience of bus passengers, I doubt understand the registration system in any-case or bother to check any registration plates, so it really doesn't matter to them.
Obviously to us registrations are important and interesting to us as enthusiasts, but to operators, not renewing them is a way of getting rid of unnecessary costs. Although it might be possible that the as yet undelivered stock, if its still at ADL gain 20 plates, but its unlikely stuff that is stored at Wigan would as they have already been registered.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester and Wigan
If a brand new vehicle is not taxed before 1st March then the DVLA generate a new current registeration without added cost, therefore it would void the 69 plate and issue a 20 one at no added cost.

No because they are being used even if only on driver training they still need taxing.
