I have heard from at least 5 sources now that Stagecoach are looking at selling Wigan. Is there any truth behind this?

Maybe it would fit better geographically into Merseyside & South Lancashire? There's not much link with the main Manchester fleet is there? Just my thought, that's all......

Wigan routes do however connect with Manchester routes so makes sense to leave it how it is

After investing so much into Wigan after years of neglect from First why would they look at selling?? The Wigan network seems to do well and as far as far as I'm aware it makes a decent profit. The size of the depot is also a huge advantage as it's used as storage for withdrawn/unused vehicles so I personally Carnt see any truth in it.

I agree , why sell a depot that the company as turned around and transformed with huge investment and as quite a large passenger base.

To be honest I'm a big critic of Stagecoach but the way they turned Wigan around is a very big credit to them.

Maybe Stagecoach want to sell Wigan, to Rotala for example, in order to purchase Network Warrington but reduce the risk of a CMA disapproval.
