On 13 January LSL ran a rail tour "Ayr Extension" from Crewe to Barrasie Junction using locomotives 86101 tnt 87002.
The tour was originally planned to Ayr but was prevented going past Barrassie by the Ayr Station hotel fire.
In British Rail days the "Royal Scot" to Euston started back at Ayr with electric locomotive haulage,
