RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
The weather doesn't seem to be doing any favours this year for northern . With the settle and Carlisle closure likely to be affecting services for a considerable time some railway magazines have a worst case of December 2017 because of the complexity of the work to be done . |

The replacement bus service must be taking an eternity to come down from buxton. I do wonder what the traincrew that operate that services be doing during this disruption. |

Buxton conductors sign the Mid-Cheshire line but yesterday the 17:58 Stockport to Chester was cancelled due to no conductor being available. Today it seems Northern are operating a Buxton to Furness Vale rail shuttle and a bus to New Mills Central station (on the Hope Valley line.) High Peak's TP bus service takes around an hour to get from Buxton to Stockport and calls at Dove Holes, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Furness Vale, New Mills Newton, Disley and Hazel Grove so a rail replacement bus shouldn't take much longer. |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
Having seen a picture of the damage that has closed the line , the track is still in situ but the trackbed has been washed out alongside some platform edge coping stones at the end of the platform. Probably there was a little stream that has become a raging torrent to cause that much damage , but this is summer storms for you these days , they can cause havoc. |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
1140 Manchester Airport-Liverpool Lime St terminated at Manchester Oxford Road at 1158. There was a problem with the train crew. As a result the Manchester Oxford Road-Liverpool Lime Street part of the jouney was cancelled. 1316 return jouney and 1440 back to Liverpool Lime St was also cancelled. Unknown reason according to realtimetrains.co.uk |

Traincrew taxi didn't turn up Manchester Victoria-Manchester Oxford Rd hence the first service above 1316 Lime St-Manchester Airport ran between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly only (unit problems),1440 Manchester Airport to Lime St started at Manchester Piccadilly |
