The Collapse was actually on Queens Street and by early afternoon Wallgate was re-opened but only to inbound traffic with outbound still closed.

As a result all traffic that would normally use Queens Street was having to use Wallgate and round by Leisure Centre and out that way, queues were tailing back to Saddle Junction adding upto 40mins to journey times, no to sure how Arriva coped with this with some services getting to Wigan Bus Station when they should have been half way back or even in St Helens or Ormskirk.
