They have got four more seats and more standing room. When Haughton Green was served by a proper service (204) from Manchester, instead of the current Guided tour of east Manchester ("here's Gorton Monastry, there's where Shameless was filmed, that's St. Marks Church where Ardwick FC was born" etc), MANs normally left Piccadilly in the evening peak with 70 people crammed on. It's actually quite surprising that when MANs were the mainstay of the 236/237 they seemed to cope a lot better capacity wise than the current Enviro200's despite the 4 seat difference. I don't think the 183 has ever had Enviro400's allocated on a regular basis, it's always been MANs and the odd Enviro200 although before AZ took over the majority of Saturday 231's from HE a while ago it was quite common to find an Enviro400 allocated to 183 on a Saturday when they obviously had a few spare deckers. |
