Either way, it is likely to cost the local tax payer more than it does in Merseyside. In my opinion, the best way to save money is to legislate so that timetable changes can only be implemented twice a year as is the case with rail operators. The current legislation only requires 56 days' notice and when an operator tweeks a service - often just by one or two minutes - it requires a full set of timetables and bus stop displays. |
