I note that Cheshire West & Chester website now mentions forthcoming changes in late August/early September.

Route 6 in Chester is being withdrawn altogether whilst the evening services on the Vicars Cross routes are being thinned out (service 8 will run instead of separate services 7 & 9 in the evenings).

On the plus side, evening services on routes 51 & 53 are to be enhanced and the new limited stop X8 introduced between Chester & Liverpool. This is listed on the website as routed via Hoole, them to Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port, Bromborough, Birkenhead & Liverpool.

The routing via Hoole of the X8 sounds like a good idea as it will tap into another area of Chester & make good use of the M53 too.
