An express route to Chester has been looked at over the years and to be honest it's just not needed, neither is more journeys on Sundays. The 12B is payed to go via Bryn y bia, once you start introducing more parts to an already long enough route passengers start lookin for quicker alternatives. The 35/36 again aren't broke and are good services. The 45 currently operated under contract, no point whatsoever to start a commercial service. Why would we reduce the 51 service? We operated the 150 Denbigh to Corwen that went via Ruthin and it simply didn't pay. Ideas for services are all well and good but in this day and age they have to be commercially viable, and you need to have some knowledge of running bus services. More and more routes supported by local authorities are being axed regardless of passenger use and looked at more as how much it costs to subsidise, the 34 will be axed by Denbighshire from the 27th July. It's not good business to start new services that two or three people might use, nor wise to start running services in the hope of subsidies to be given. |
