I can't agree with you there. The 53 is a QBP with a five-minute frequency during the day and runs along the same corridor (Stanley Road) as Arriva services 52 (every six minutes), 54 and 55 as well as the Southport services (47, 48 and X2) giving at least 20 buses per hour. From Bootle Strand to Waterloo and Crosby you can add the 62 service to the mix.

I might be wrong but I think that at peak times, the 19 is far more likely to sail past a stop full than a 53.

To be fair to Stagecoach, the fleet profile at GM is infinitely better than it was when it was first bought and I suspect the remaining Darts will have moved on within the next year or two.

I'm well aware of what runs through Bootle as I work in the damned place, however lots of darts are appearing on 53's lately and this is really a retrograde step for the route. With regards to 19's, well I'm also familiar with that route as until I moved house it was my regular route as part if getting to work and wouldn't say it went past stops full that much if at all. With regards to stagecoach, well yes GM has improved beyond all recognition since they took over.
