I would imagine that they must have a Merseyrail driver/manager route conducting from Ellesmere Port to Hooton, or they have staff who have left Merseyrail within the last year who still have that route on their cards.

There is a special ticket in the system now, with a destination of Helsby Runcorn 150 or suchlike.

I think to cover both Guard and Driver will be conducted between Ellesmere Port and Hooton , but for ease of operation they will stay with the train throughout its sojurn on the Helsby branch.

It will be nice to see a diesel once again at Hooton .

It also allows for an extra train around the Halton Curve as well , anything to keep that line in the public eye is always useful.
