Olympian 16833 was used as a breakdwon replacement on the 38 this afternoon and as such worked the first 611 of the day. It was replaced for the 1940 12 by 36-branded Enviro300 24103 (although it did depart 10 minutes late).

I was going to keep quiet but now it has been leaked sort-of, yes Hull's 17025-34 are reported to be transferring to Stockton starting next week to replace 16831-40.

And today sadly marked the start of the end, with just 16831 out on the 12/14/34 and 16832/7 on the 11.

Last time I looked at the calendar it said the year is currently 2013 not 2016 so why the rush to get rid of step entrance buses?

I have to say I am rather annoyed about this as I was under the impression I had at least until 2014 to get 16833 and 16835 and if I had known they were about to be withdrawn this week I would have made the effort to visit during the last school holiday period.

At such short notice the earliest I can get up there now will be Friday but more likely Saturday but that could be too late. The other factor is that whilst I am trying to find the two olympians that interest me the most in Stockton and Middlesbrough I could be completely in the wrong place as they might be in Sunderland assuming the Black Cats are at home this Saturday.

First off, the Olympians aren't being withdrawn this week. The first Tridents haven't even transferred north yet and won't until the ex-Manchester Enviro400s start entering service at Hull. Also the transfer will be gradulate so the Olympians have a few weeks left yet (though I dobut they'll be used after the Easter Holidays).

Also, Sunderland are playing at home this weekend....but on Sunday so the Olympians will be in use on Teesside services on Saturday (if any are used, given we only had 3 out this past weekend).
