RE: Go North East
We will be making the following changes to services around Houghton-le-Spring and Hetton-le-Hole from 11th November 2012: Service 71 will operate only between Chester-le-Street and Houghton-le-Spring as planned. However, as a result of this consultation, Go North East is pleased to announce there will be no changes to Metrolink service M1. It will continue to operate every 10 minutes Monday-Saturday daytimes throughout the length of the route. This maintains a high frequency service to Houghton-le-Spring for connections to other services towards Sunderland. Service 20 will continue to operate every 10 minutes between Durham and Sunderland only. o In response to the comments received during consultation, the service will operate on its current route every 20 minutes, maintaining a service through Hall Lane Estate and Gillas Lane to Durham, Houghton-le-Spring and Sunderland. o Alternate journeys will operate as service 20A via Rainton Bridge every 20 minutes. Service 35 will continue to operate every 10 minutes, all the way through to South Shields. o Every 20 minutes, the service will operate to Low Moorsley via Hetton-le-Hole and Hetton Downs, providing an improved frequency. These 35 journeys will omit Silksworth, providing a faster journey to Sunderland Royal Hospital and City Centre. This will replace services X36 and X37. o Every 20 minutes, the service will operate as service 35A to Rainton Bridge. The 35A and 20A will combine to provide a service every 10 minutes between Rainton Bridge and Houghton-le-Spring. These service 35A journeys will omit Sunderland Royal Hospital, to provide a faster journey time into the City Centre. o Evening and Sunday journeys will continue to operate once per hour to Low Moorsley and once per hour to South Hetton. Service X20 will continue to operate, at peak times only as proposed. Service X35 will be retimed by up to 10 minutes to improve timings at Doxford International following customer requests. |
