That's correct, from my understanding the only got rid of them was due to the age no longer being allowed for tendered school routes. The 263 suffers an issue due to the capacity not being reached on a reliable basis (i.e. being very busy for 9-5 workers and school children) and when there is issues on the Altrincham Metrolink line it just cannot cope - this was occuring even pre-pandemic. Similar to the 130 route, they invested in putting the 263 as a sapphire route (USB charging, next stop annoucements, WiFi) rather than fixing the issues caused by reduced frequency and increased congestion.
