It is a b****y stupid idea. Anyone trying to get to/from Lime Street or Central stations from the south end of the city is totally shafted, and faces a very very long walk to change between bus & train. A proposed shuttle bus between ONE & Queen Square will probably be as slow as walking. Presumably the scheme was devised by some buffoon who rarely, if ever, travels by bus, and thinks that buses should go where planners think it is convenient, rather than where passengers actually want to go. Far more passengers board 75 /80 /82 / 86 buses outside St. Johns Market than at Liverpool ONE bus station.
