RE: MTL Manchester
A few bits on this:- MTL Manchester bought Nationals as they where cheap and easy to get hold of as many where reaching end of service life. A large different quantity of stocks where tipped into including Fishwicks, Badgerline, East Midlands and various others. Lancashire Travel generally operated the following into Greater Manchester, Leyland National 2's many based at Bolton Copachways depot at Bolton which MTL bought, they can be identified as all these past to GM Buses North after sale, Volvo B10B's Wright Endurance worked some of the longer routes namely L501-513TKA and also working where Metrobuses both MKI and II examples and Olympians o251-o260 which where based at St Helens initially, also working in later on prior to closure was the odd Leyland Titan TN but they really where meant for routes in copetition with WBT in Warrington but I have photographic eveidence of one working into Manchester Piccadilly Bus Station and I also have recollectiosn of seeing one in Leigh. |
