RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
1316 Liverpool Lime st-Manchester Airport was cancelled due to a problem at the depot. 1740 Manchester Airport-Liverpool Lime st was due to operate but didn't because the replacement was slower than the normal allocation of a 319. |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
A slower diesel really wouldn't lose too much time over a electric , if that was the excuse then that is a feeble excuse for a cancellation , at best skipping some stops would have sorted that out . |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
From TfGM: 19:00 Manchester Airport-Barrow in Furness changes from a 3 car Class 185 to a 3 car Northern unit with a resulting increase in available capacity The following services will remain as 4 carriage workings but see a slight decrease in available capacity due to the formation of train units used: 07:57 Wigan NW – Victoria 08:21 Blackpool North – Huddersfield 08:44 Victoria – Southport 10:23 Southport – Manchester Airport 11:15 Huddersfield – Wigan Wallgate 12:03 Manchester Airport – Southport 13:45 Wigan Wallgate – Stalybridge 14:23 Southport – Manchester Airport 15:08 Stalybridge – Victoria 16:03 Manchester Airport – Southport 16:11 Victoria – Stalybridge 16:30 Stalybridge – Wigan Wallgate 18:15 Southport – Manchester Airport 18:24 Wigan Wallgate – Victoria 19:35 Victoria – Wigan Wallgate 20:03 Manchester Airport – Southport 22:18 Southport – Manchester Piccadilly The following train services which previously ran as 4 car units will now run as 2 carriage: 03:38 Lime Street – Manchester Airport 04:34 Manchester Airport – Lime Street 06:36 Victoria-Leeds 18:14 Victoria – Wigan NW 19:03 Wigan NW – Lime Street The above are a direct result of the TPE 170s leaving and going to Chiltern with Northern needing to find replacements for the 185s used on North West routes. |

Have to say that it's poor cancelling so many services along that line. An operator might find it cheaper if they don't run a service over not stopping at some stations. |

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
I think a cancelled service will incur bigger charges than a service which skips stops out to make time up. In the old days it used to be a part cancellation would equal a quarter of a cancellation , don't know if this still applies . |

Network rail now say it will be the 24th June before services can resume between Buxton and Stockport , this is now becoming a serious washout |
