I *may* have seen 10577 passing Lime St as well....which would make all 32 in service, I believe 10574 was the last to be delivered from ADL as it was late for some reason.....managed a shot of 10575 on 6 June https://www.flickr.com/photos/dmc1947/27318626570

RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot
This might not be the right thread as I'm not sure which depot it's allocated to but while at a rather muddy Parklife in Manchester at weekend noticed 17549 On shuttles sticking out like a sore thumb still looking very much like a London bus. I seem to remember this and others were initially used on a long term rail replacement contract but how come its never been treated to a lick of paint? And is it the only one of the commonwealth games batch (as I call them) to still remain in overal red?

I would say as it is used on a Merseytravel school contract (I believe it has a permanent front destination for it) Gillmoss have not deemed it worthwhile to repaint it.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

17494,501,527,575, where the original 4 for the Birkenhead rail replacements out of those used on commonwealth games. After 17501 lots its roof to a bridge, 17591 was cast in. This only lasted a couple of hours before breaking down and hasn't been on the road since due to fuel issues. Its been repaired and repainted but is awaiting an MOT. As a result of this 17549 was cast in until the end of the contract.

Out of the above, 549 is the only one still in London condition. 494/527/575 are now converted to part opentop and single door conversion and are with City Sightseeing Stratford upon Avon. 17501 still resides in Rock Ferry undergoing a proper open top conversion.

I am no longer active on this forum.

Thanks for that. I was quite surprised to see it like that I first assumed it was working for Happy ALS lol.
Be interesting to see what happens to it once the contract is up. Obviously Manchester got a large number of the same batch and although many were repainted blue and were used with dual door layout on the 151 some have been converted to single door and painted into corporate livery and there actually cracking buses. Look very modern internally for thier age and personally prefer them to the early Enviro400's still knocking about.
