Yes these were the last new deckers at GM and for MTL mate in June 1998. Mind you in the 90's GM did become 100% Titan before the Palatine 2's so a lot of older Atlantean's did get withdrawn at GM too when they soldiered on at GL LS GA/Speke till about 1996. Also the failed Merseytram project and GTL's financial demise created uncertainty for new vehicles for GM. Even if it had have gone ahead it would have taken passengers away and routes maybe would have become feeders for the trams. I suppose if Arriva don't get the new deckers for GL then say having these new deckers for the 14's and getting some more for the 20/21 (which I think need them just as much) would be the best compromise. |

There are now three Dennis Trident/Plaxton Presidents at Gillmoss, all for spares as far as I know. Ex Metroline TPL268 LN51KZC (red/blue skirt livery) Ex Metroline TP403 LK03CEJ (overall red) Ex Tower Transit (new to First London) TN33198 LT52XAJ (overall red) All I believe were bought via Ensignbus The first bus that was newly delivered to Gillmoss by Stagecoach, Dart 34741 PX55EDF is back at Gillmoss too, however it is in store. buses7675 http://dartslf.com/ Light up, light up as if you have a choice,

The PX55 --- were new to Carlisle but got written off in the floods up there and then were bought back on the cheap by Gillmoss as far as im aware. Not sure if they seen service up there but thats why they are on Carlisle PX plates. |

It was the PX53s etc that came from Carlisle (they had fleetnumbers with T at the end on delivery), 34741 and onwards were the first ones brand new to Gillmoss buses7675 http://dartslf.com/ Light up, light up as if you have a choice,

At the same GM received some PX53 Darts that had been written off a year earlier when Carlisle depot was flooded. The PX53 vehicles carried a T next to the fleet number. I assumed it was to indicate that it had a tachograph but somebody suggested the the T indicated Tidal for insurance purposes. |

RE: Stagecoach Merseyside - Gillmoss Depot
Unfortunately not. New plates issued are in the form of 5 numerals and no letters eg. 12345 but traders who already hold plates keep their original identity such as 845FY and 490KA. |

Also noticed 18385 sat on the back fence for over a month now so this could be needing spare parts. |

Out of interest are these donor vehiches given 'on paper' Stagecoach fleetnumbers? I know it seems an odd question but here in Manchester several takeovers have seen Stagecoach acquire vehicles with the operations of an operator which for various reasons would never see active service yet were given 'paper' fleetnumbers as they were technically part of the Stagecoach fleet. |
