Stagecoach having major problems with their 236/237 services at the moment as Long Lane Broadbottom is closed due to a sink hole appearing in the road and traffic is finding alternate routes to avoid the problem.

Yesterday traffic on A628 was queing from Hollingworth Gun Inn all the way back past the 237 turning for Tintwistle and in Glossop was backing up from Gun Inn Lights all the way back to the turning for Simmondley in Glossop, from what I can gather some 236/237s were running upto 20mins or more late due to the additional traffic.

Just read in the Manchester Evening News that there's been a RTC involving a bus and a car in Northern Quarter (Stephenson Square/Lever Street junction)

Hopefully everyone involved is ok, bus involved seems to be 76 branded 10048 but could be wrong as can't quite get the fleetnumber in the photo

It's been like this for over a week now and the contractors keep pushing back the date in which the road is set to reopen. It was due to open yesterday (Wednesday) but the latest is it should now reopen on either Friday evening or Saturday morning but I wouldn't hold my breath.
It's also severely affected Stotts 341/202's and high peaks 394's.
Stotts are running from gamesley to Mottram via the 236 route but unlike 236/237's which can shoot up the outside lane once they get to the gunn, the Stotts services have to sit and que and gave been running up to an hour late at times.
I did notice a complete lack of information on the TFGM website/twitter feed or Facebook page but they were very quick to report a fault on the Ashton Metrolink line.

Rather amusing but many comuters who Presumsbly normally travel out of glossop by Car or bus choose to ditch them methods ah travel by train to beat the traffic chaos on Tuesday, I'm told the large car park at Dinting was overflowing with cars - yet due due to signalling problems all early trains ended up being cancelled with the first not leaving glossop till 08.46 - gives a new meaning to the term trapped lol.

Noticed 19623 out of service in Ashton today, seemed like it was either route training or staff shuttles as it came in the bus station via the same way as the 216 etc and went straight back out. Had some staff onboard, possibly driver familiarisation for cascades to Ashton?

Just to spice things up one of the 196## Enviro's was in Glossop yesterday afternoon again driver route learning with the regular AZ trainer at the wheel.
I won't say good ridence regarding the midi's at AZ but it's interesting if it happens but I've noticed a deffinate lack of Enviro400's other the last few days with Enviro200's turning up on 236/237 duties normally worked by Enviro400's and I noticed an Enviro200 leaving Ashton on Monday afternoon fit to bursting on a 231 towards Manchester.

I'm surprised to hear 16949 has moved to ST, I thought the idea was to keep all 3 Volvo's together at MN but I'm presuming it's for the infamous 700 school service?? Although it tends to be 192 branded E400H's at the moment certainly in the afternoon.

The batch 19621-40 aren't Euro6, they were delivered in late 2009. They are the unique MAN-engined Enviros, and despite the lack of the back offside lower deck seat, they seem to be better than the normal ones.

A couple have been noted recently either route learning on AZ routes or actually in service, so as unlikely as it would seem on paper, something is happening. They don't appear on the Period 10 allocation though.

As regards 16949, the 700 is the only logical place for it, as its too old for TFGM contracts.

Does midi's mean Enviro200's or possibly evolutions.
Allocations seem tighter generally now at AZ, for example MANs very rarely stray into anything other than 345/6/7 and of course the 183.
The evolutions seem to only be used on 346/7.
Both evolutions and MANs were regulars on the 236/237 at evening peak but since Christmas its been strictky enviro 200/400's.

I'm presuming 16949 hasn't been used yet as I haven't seen it in glossop.

Since the days when AZ first opened whenever they have been short of deckers it's always been this batch of MAN Enviro's that's been loaned to them. In the early days it was simply down to the fact that AZ didn't have AdBlue tanks and this batch don't need it, but since 2011 and the arrival of the Enviro200's they have had AdBlue facilities so I wonder why they still only seem to have this batch on loan?

Would be great to see an MMC Enviro on loan but carnt see that happening lol
