Not that that means the pride of the fleet passes their window - albeit 17245 was on an all day 201/3 working today, and probably more comfortable tham my bus home (19394) on which I felt every pot hole. But to illustrate the point, both these buses are Daw Bank rejects (lol).
I got 19390 today which struggled up every hill [even small ones] and didn't sound too healthy on the flat bits either.

RE: Stagecoach Manchester
In terms of money making, what about Sharston? This depot has the lion's share of Stagecoach interest on the Wilmslow Road corridor including the major 42/43 services and the majority of Magic Bus duties. There are some other busy services in the form of the 85/86 and 1XX routes.

Yes, all depots make money - all that myself and Kuyoyo have said is that Stockport probbably makes the most money.
I can't comment on why the Solos were swapped, but I suspect the poor profit of Middleton routes had something to do with it - i.e. under the Stagecoach way of accounting, those routes couldn't justify such new vehicles.

Yes, the 11 & 325 are probably money spinners - even if they cope with 40 seaters! 23/23A & 368/9 probably do their bit. 322/7 used to quielty contribute more than they were given credit for, although it probably would have been better if the 327 was just a peak hour extra on top of a 30 minute 322.
But what else is there? The 192 is clearly overbussed except at College times; 378 doesn't need 'deckers based on my sightings, and most other well loaded 'deckers services (203 & 330) in the town are not actually run by Stockport.
Another route i think will contribute is the 378 Wilmslow - yes its only hourly but seems to carry decent loadings when ive used it,plus im guessing the Minibus network makes more money than meets the eye

well it makes perfect sence to me,use the newer buses on the services that make more money!,Another thing is if stockport was "just wanting the newer buses" as some people say wouldnt they have swapped PE51 YHG/M For the 2 solos not the 07regs? Plus Stockport hasnt had a large amount of new buses for a 2 years now (execpt the GBF Funded E400Hs) plus the ALX300s need replacing,ok they could go down the Firstbus route & make them DDA (Infact i think some areas have actully done this over the years).

would they only need that yellow tape put on edges of steps as the older MAN's already have two wheelchair spaces?

when I've been on some of Ashton's E20Ds on the 183 theyre wheelchair space on the left is very tight to manoeuvre a wheelchair or pram into because of a pole in the middle which could also be a problem
