One thought which has crossed my mind is maybe Arriva might be trying a route which partly replaces the ECO services when they get withdrawn in February. As I say just a thought.

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
If I may ask a question of those who may know.
On the Wrightbus website it states the the Pulsar/Pulsar2 are "lightweight single deckers" however the Solar and Eclipse products are classed as "heavy duty single deckers."
Now to my untrained eye the Pulsar, Solar & Eclipse products look the same, so what are the differences other than perhaps differences in weight??
What class is the Renown in?? As I personally from a passenger point of view would prefer a Renown to a Pulsar any day of the week, unfortunately we don't often get them on the 352 much. :-(

The Pulsar sits on a lightweight VDL chassis whereas the others sit on a heavier, supposedly more resilient chassis made by Scania and Volvo respectively. The Renown sits on a heavier Volvo chassis.

So would a less resilient chassis have a shorter operational service life?

RE: Arriva North West - St Helens Depot
I wouldn't say so, many Dart SLFs have led the same length service lives as a comparable heavyweight low floor chassis. They'll probably have a standard 15 year shelf life with Arriva as most single deck types do.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.
