I'd imagine that Cumfybus have had to throw as many Solos (Soloes?) as they can at the new Bolton operation so X662 is probably covering until new stock arrives. Just a thought... Smile

Since August 2003

I think all the Joblink services on both sides of the water started at the same sort of times - a few other operators initially did some of the Liverpool ones (Raddonuer, North Liverpool Community Wheels, Cumfybus and HTL) but in the end HTL ended up running everything expect the 830, still run by Cumfybus. I think in the Wirral though Cumfybus ran everything from day 1!

This decker is a permanent transfer here as a contract bus which ran to a meat processing factory on Deeside Ind Est (which i believe was operated by Oares of Holywell) has been taken off, so to allow for extra capacity with passengers now using the 811 this vehicle is here.

These contracts have just been renewed by Merseytravel for a further 12 months. and in answer to your question 5 years as the 08 batch of solos was bought specially for the contract.

Another Alero now declared SORN is YN03 UYE.

I think that now leaves just eight licensed: UYA, UYB, UYF, JWL, GPY, GRK, UCE and TTY.

Seen the silver solo EH06 UNY on the 215 today in Broadway, another really poorly presented vehicle, panels different in colour, repairs at the back that you can blatantly see in the corners and to top it all off the engine cover was yellow. This is a company that could really do with tidying up some of its buses as it really doesn't give a good impression of what is a very busy company.

This one made a rare appearance on the CityLink circular today. Whilst I agree that it looks rubbish externally, it's not bad inside, and I hadn't previously been aware that it even has seatbelts. (Does it also have a different engine than most Solos? It sounded a bit deeper and more powerful.)

On a separate note, VU02 TTY is yet another Alero to have SORN declared. (Perhaps Cumfybus are supporting the No More Page Three campaign? Smile )
