RE: First West & North Yorkshire
Ftrs buses will be moving to the 72 route. The 'streetcar' buses, which have been running on the 4 in Leeds and in York, will be refurbished later in the year ready for use on the 72 as early as October, which will increase its frequency to every 7 minutes at the same time. Future plans is to increase the service to 10 buses per hour (every 6 mins), offer free wi-fi on board and ticketing initiatives. Many stops and shelters along the route will be upgraded and the Leeds city centre terminus will move from the bus station to a new 'super stop' around the corner on Eastgate. York's 4 route has recently replaced their ftrs with Gemini double deckers and it's believed that that 4 in Leeds will see the same vehicles used. The 4 will also be extended from Pudsey Waterloo to Thornbury Barracks and Highfield Green. http://www.wymetro.com/news/releases/12-06-15-72 http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/ne...-1-4643155 |

RE: First West & North Yorkshire
I have the distinct feeling that some new Volvo B9TL-Geminis that are starting out at the Olympics are coming to Leeds afterwards, enabling older Volvo B7TLs to replace the final Olympians at Huddersfield or elsewhere within First. If anyone knows anything feel free to share it here, thanks! |

Considering how many urban services are run by First, this is unsurprising really. (Mind you, Arriva are dominant on the south side of the county). |

RE: First West & North Yorkshire
Maybe First therefore might dispose of their entire West Yorkshire operations as well as everywhere else in protest. |
