RE: South Lancs Travel
Another problem with 581 and I could be wrong here is that I'm pretty sure that some of them may run onto Schools in the afternoon and depending on what traffic is like on St Helens Road heading into or out off Bolton this could make 581 run late into Leigh therefor ending up getting to the School late

But yes there are plenty of buses these days up St Helens Road, just a shame the link from Bolton-Tyldesley has been lost

a lot of their services are kinda suspended to run school services, thats always been the case and i have always said if the services came before school work their services would pick up more than they currently do as a lot of people like a service at the same time every hour (hence why blue bus and their 620 became a popular route)

Confirmation of SLT's changes scheduled for 7 July now posted on their website, along with PDF timetables. There is a couple of additional changes. SLT will step in to run all journeys on service 612 from 7 to 20 July before being taken over by another operator (should be Cumfybus), while they'll take over the Monday-Saturday daytime service of the 527 from 21 July.

But most people would much rather use a service more often than every hour.

Thanks,

Most tendered services are only hourly... no point in more than that most of the time due to passenger levels

RE: South Lancs Travel
we on about none tendered work, if you look in their none tendered work timetables theres always gaps at school time and i was saying if there was not gaps their services would make more money than they currently do

Disruptions expected on SLT's 516/517/518 and 576 services due to the closure of the Beehive roundabout near Middlebrook for carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing from 20 to 27 July.

Services 514 and 574 will be suspended for the week and replaced by service 514E, which will run between Middlebrook and Markland Hill via M61 motorway, Lostock Junction, Daubhill, Bolton bus station, Gilnow and Heaton.

Service 517 will be diverted between Middlebrook and Horwich via Blackrod, while service 518 will also be re-routed via Chorley Road, Manchester Road, Station Road and Church Lane between Middlebrook and Horwich.

Services 516 and 576 will be re-routed away from Middlebrook with the 516 running via Church Lane, Station Road, Manchester Road, Chorley Road then onwards to Wingates, while service 576 will run via Chorley Old Road and Old Kiln Lane between Horwich and Bolton.
