A huge rebuild schme to make 4 platforms I've heard and also get the second city crossing junction built.

I'm not sure as to what extent this will effect services though.

Double trams are now booked in on the Rochdale - South Manchester Line, and also seeing double T68s is now rare. Most if not all trams on the Altrincham and Bury lines are M5000s now, with the Eccles line allocation apparently changed to T68 running excluding the MediaCityUK extra peaks.

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.

The line to East Didsbury opened on Thursday. I shall in due course ride it with Oldham/Rochdale and Droylsden on the same day.

Interesting challenge - I know people have done similar challenges on the London Underground but this is the first time I've heard of it being done on Metrolink.

Good to hear some good news stories , like the way they have linked there surnames the opposite way round to the station name so they wont be named like a tram stop anymore .

RE: Metrolink
As more has come to light, Victoria will as far as I know, have 4 platforms, one being for southbound, one for north, and the other two being served by only one track through the middle - this will enable trams to be able to alight both sides of Victoria. From what I can see, the likelihood is its use will be for terminating trams, so that people alighting Victoria will easily be able to leave for either north or southbound services. Part of me feels that its only use for southbound alighting traffic will be to transfer onto trams using the First City Crossing, and services to Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Trams had already begun testing in Oldham recently, however more testing is to begin during daytimes on the town centre route from the 7th onwards.

Thanks,
Liam Moskwin.
