The 680 will most probably be a commercial route.

thats great news then ony problem is if that 714 goes the same route to aspull as the 715 it may not last as the 715 is only just going now

According to the map in the document, the 714 will run via the 715 route between Bolton and Westhoughton before following 516 route to Middlebrook then as current 714 route to Horwich then via 575 route to Aspull.

I would guess at perhaps Maytree trying to get some more customers between Bolton and Westhoughton, given that they run the evening and Sunday service on the 715. The re-routing to Westhoughton also means that Maytree will compete with SLT between Westhoughton, Middlebrook and Horwich with the 126/516/517 service (Maytree also running the 516 Monday-Saturday evenings). The 680 will see another route against SLT between Shakerley, Atherton and Leigh with SLT's 683-685 services.

i agree with that and with the 559 being extended to st davids crescent thats one step closer to having a bus to wigan from bolton in the day time

it looks like maytree are trying to run loops around companys so far with little luck however i expect it to work now with this 714 and 559 thing

maytree say on their facebook page that they got a driver dressed up as mr claws, something to keep an eye out for today if you come across any maytree services

Also got the 516/584 from First too, as part of the contract. They've also gained the 96 from Travel Master, which will give them another route in the Simister area (already have 495) plus another route into Manchester.

The 714 re-routing has also been confirmed, with the service running via Westhoughton and Wingates and extended to Aspull, running every hour. Buses leave Bolton at 0557 (weekdays), 0657 then every hour until 1857 from Bolton and 0625 (weekdays), 0722 (Sat), 0725 (weekdays), 0822 and every hour until 1922 from Aspull.

The 680 will run between Leigh and Shakerley via Parsonage Retail Park and Atherton, leaving Leigh at 0745 (weekdays), 0845 and every hour until 1750 and from Shakerley at 0712 (weekdays), 0812 and every hour until 1712
