RE: Merseyrail
i managed to catch 507002 at my hometown station hightown

how long will it be before 507012 comes back into service and will 508111 be repainted when the beatles story livery runs out. i also think the tackiest units (508110 and 508125 for example)
should be the ones in advertising liveries.

RE: Merseyrail
Saw 507008 very strangely positioned today. It was on the New Brighton junction standing still?

Probably held at a signal? Quite common to see trains sitting around there!

RE: Merseyrail
507002 again on the Southport line today, 507032 was also on there along with 507004, 507028 and another 507, 508111 being the 508 I noted. 6 cars were being formed at Southport late this evening to cope with the traffic from the Southport fireworks display, fair play to Merseyrail for that but the Northern Line could have done with this all day today. 002 was a nice ride but 032 was far superior.

Oh Superman where are you now, when everything's gone wrong somehow, the men of steel, the men of power, are losing control by the hour.

The evening pairs from Southport were as follows:
22.13 - 507005 + 508134
22.28 - 508136 + 508111

With high shopping traffic and the EFC fans too, they should really have been out all day. The two departures in front (the 21.43 and 21.58) were both absolutely packed, but running as 3 cars.

In terms of rides: 032 was absolutely superb, 111 a bit rough on occasions and the seats looked shoddily applied, 002 decent again but interior looking hastily reassembled and 028 suffering from an absolute beast of a wheelflat but otherwise impressive.

They're already past their sell by date! Big Grin

The problem of preservation is who would want it? It would need to be local to Merseyside...imo. Conservation Centre or something.

RE: Merseyrail
Get rid of overhead line car in museum of liverpool. Unlikely to happen, but the only option I can think of.

If there was to be a preserved unit, I would want it to be a 507 as opposed to a 508, simply because as discussed before, they are pure to Merseyside. I would want 001 preserved, not only with its historical significance, but its excelent ride.

Do you think that if/when the current fleet is replaced that there would be a rail tour? Similar to the A stock or 1967 ts in London?
