Beccy Barr, a former BBC TV presenter who switched careers to train as a firefighter has died, she worked for BBC North West Tonight from 2013, before leaving in 2019 to join Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. The 46-year-old, from Lancaster, was diagnosed with incurable abdominal cancer in 2023. |

Musician and artist Carl Bevan has died at the age of 51, his partner has announced on social media. The 51-year-old rose to fame as the drummer of the 1990s punk rock band 60ft Dolls. The trio supported bands Oasis and the Sex Pistols and played Glastonbury before splitting in 1998. |

American actress Gena Rowlands, who is known for roles including in The Notebook and Another Woman, has died at the age of 94. Rowlands, who was nominated for an Oscar for 1974's A Woman Under the Influence and 1980's Gloria, died at her home in Indian Wells, California. No cause of death was given, but she had been suffering from Alzheimer's, according to reports. |

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has died aged 76 following a battle with terminal cancer. He was the first non-British manager of the England national football team, serving from 2001 until his early departure in 2006. He additionally had stints managing Manchester City and Leicester City. He also managed teams in his native Sweden, Italy, Portugal, China, as well as the Mexico, Ivory Coast, and Philippines national teams. He also managed the LFC Legends for their charity match against Ajax in March this year, a wish that he had always wanted to do. RIP. |

US rapper Fatman Scoop has died aged 53 after collapsing at concert on Friday in Connecticut, he was halfway through his set at the Town Center Park in the city of Hamden when he collapsed on stage. |
