until this incident i hadnt come across a gapped unit involving the 777 , how many shoes does one of the se units have and where are they situated , i know on the 507 they where not on the leading bogie.

I understood that all 777 0xx sets had batteries not just the longer range 1xx units. With such capability they should surely have resolved a gapping problem.

they have shoes on each corner of the train.
No doubt everything will come out in a joint investigation with Network Rail

I’ve heard that after 507013/032 depart tomorrow morning, there will a pause in 507 departures until after the Grand National in April.
That, however, could change!

This means that the farewell tour will be on the anniversary weekend of the Eurovision Song Contest, held last year in Liverpool.
