Please can I repeat my request for information or photos of any other withdrawn Aleros (or a list of which ones are still in service) or Solos.

I'm bumping this post from a couple of months ago as I am also interested in the status of the numerous withdrawn vehicles from the Cumfy fleet.

As for Aleros, I can confirm that the following are definitely still on the road: YN03 UYE seen in St Helens today (Saturday); YP52 JWL, YN03 UYB and VU02 TTY all seen on the Wirral on Tuesday (21st). I am pretty sure I have also seen YS02 UCE in the past couple of months, although my memory is hazy as to when and where. I'm fairly sure I have seen YN03 UYA and YU02 GRK vaguely recently but can be no more specific than that.

GPY was re-taxed only this month so can assume that one is still in service. UYC and UYF were both taxed in April. All of the others are definitely not in service as they are not licensed, although of course that doesn't help us as to whether or not they still exist! I know several were stored at the old depot by Birkenhead Docks, so if they've vacated those premises, then the chances are that those may have gone for scrap?

Here's the list I have, along with current DVLA status of each:

XIL 8946 acquired as non-runner: unlicensed since 01-MAY-12
YL51 ZTG acquired as non-runner: unlicensed since 01-JAN-07
YR02 YTB deleted from DVLA: presumed scrapped
YR02 YRU withdrawn: SORN expires 01-NOV-12
YR02 YRV withdrawn: SORN expires 01-OCT-12
YU02 GPV withdrawn: SORN expires 01-AUG-13
YU02 GPX withdrawn: SORN expires 01-NOV-12
YU02 GPY licensed: expires 01-AUG-13
YU02 GRK licensed: expires 01-DEC-12
YU02 GRX withdrawn: SORN expires 01-SEP-13
VU02 TTY licensed: expires 01-JUL-13
YS02 UCE licensed: expires 01-JUL-13
YP52 BPE withdrawn: SORN expires 01-SEP-13
YP52 JWL licensed: expires 01-JUL-13
YN03 UYA licensed: expires 01-MAR-13
YN03 UYB licensed: expires 01-OCT-12
YN03 UYC licensed: expires 01-APR-13
YN03 UYD withdrawn: unlicensed since 01-SEP-10
YN03 UYE licensed: expires 01-APR-13
YN03 UYF licensed: expires 01-APR-13
YN04 XZM withdrawn: SORN expires 01-MAY-13
YN54 LLD acquired as non-runner: SORN expires 01-SEP-13

The three Fiats W227-229 PHY are all SORN (I believe a couple of these were also at Birkenhead), and surprisingly despite being only 6 years old, the three Renaults MX55 YRC, MX06 FMO/FNE are also SORN, anyone have any idea where these are, have they been sold?

I also noticed recently that white Fiat Y817 LBV is still present at Botanic Road, Southport, does this now belong to someone else?

As this is now getting rather long, I think we'll leave larger vehicles to another day! :-)

RE: Cumfybus
Hybrid Solo YJ12 GXN is on the 157 today. A hybrid Solo on this service on Sundays is becoming quite usual to see.

Video RE: Cumfybus
I managed my first ride on one of the Hybrid Solo's on Saturday, wasn't too bad, quite similar to that of the ones with First Manchester, I also managed to make a short video of YJ12 GXA for anyone who's interested.

Sounds awful to me, people complain of Pulsars rattling and thats all that sounds like its doing and i stopped at 1.05! Iv heard quieter explosions in the cinema than the noise that engine was making!

Thanks for doing that research Dave - Quite amazing just how many Aleros on Merseyside are withdrawn!

Best thing for all concerned, if you ask me. Ruddy awful things to drive. Every single one of Cumfybus's had to have the gearlever modified as they kept snapping off, it happening to me at the start of a 50mph stretch of road.

RE: Cumfybus
There's regularly a hybrid in St Helens anyway on the 152 Rainford Circular.
