RE: GB Railfreight
66797 has arrived in the country and has been forwarded to Doncaster Roberts Road by 66791. I am not currently sure on the history of this one but I suspect it has come from Germany.

Can now confirm 66797 is the former Berlin based CTL Logistics 513-09 (92 80 1266 036-3) having operated for them via Beacon Rail Leasing since 2016. It was built new in 2004 and has works number EMD 20038513-9 belonging in the same batch as longer term ex EU residents 66750 and 66751.

RE: GB Railfreight
66795 has been collected from Immingham Docks today and taken to Doncaster Roberts Road. It is the former 561-05 last operated for Freightliner Germany in their bright orange livery. Built in 2004 it has works number EMD 20038561-5.

66798 should be here soon that is also ex Freightliner Germany 561-03. Once again built in 2004 this one has works number 20038561-3.

I Believe these 2 are both low geared examples for heavier loadings like Freightliner's 66/6s so are limited to 60mph vice the usual 75mph.

Could that pave the way for longer freight trains in the uk

RE: GB Railfreight
Probably not, the length of a train is determined by the length of passing loops on that particular route and I can’t see NR lengthening those any time soon

Not really they are more ideal for heavier loadings around the 2000+ Tonnes mark in which a standard 66 would struggle. Quite a lot of DB workings usually operated by a Class 60 have to have wagons removed when a 66 has to stand in.

RE: GB Railfreight
66779 currently out of use at Birch Coppice having derailed and collided with the buffers. Minor damage and was a gear selection error.
