They often use deckers during the school holidays normally on the 343 and the now cancelled 407. They were used on the 387 which I can very much believe.

It shows one did a round trip on the 387 and one did one trip on the 364. I've heard of them being used on the 343 before. Unless they were meal break vehicles I can't see why they'd be on there. The 364 especially as that's usually the same Enviro200 all year round.

What deckers do Stotts have in their fleet now? Last time I used a Stotts decker they still had ex-London Tridents, ELC Olympians and even the Scanias.

Former Arriva London Volvo B7TL ALX400s (VLA's) LJ55BSO, BSU, BSV, BSX, BSY, BSZ, BVP and BVR. As well as former Stagecoach Trident ALX400s LX04FYK and FYL.

Covering for breakdowns or meal breaks most likely. The ticket machines arnt linked to a vehicle the driver has to select the correct vehicle at start of duty so it’s got to be right.

I remember when scots ran on 184 as far as hollingwood they used there deckers on this.

Would have been the 427, which ran along the same route as First's 180/184 at the time (mid 2000s), between Grotton and Oldham. Usually had double deckers and a maximum fare of 70p. Eventually lost out to First, who ran additional journeys between Grotton and Hollinwood before re-routing them to Limeside instead as the 183.

It was their ‘comeback move’. In the 90’s they signed a deal with First after years of successfully competing against them on various Oldham/Ashton routes Stotts agreed to deregister all of their commercial work for a pretty large some of money, leaving them to concentrate on schools and coach work, however the deal was only for 10 years, First obviously thinking they would be long gone, but they survived and as soon as the deal expired registered the 427. First weren’t happy and threw everything at it

Think if they did same today it would be easy dont even think First would give up a fight.
