Rotala - Prestonbus
RE: Rotala - Prestonbus
Despite the recent repaints into Preston Bus livery, is the longer term plan for a more consistent identity across the NW Rotala brands? (I.e. could we see Preston vehicles in the diamond two tone blue livery)

I believe two tone blue is to be adopted across all NW fleets, it is intended for Preston Bus will retain it's name though. It will make transferring buses across all Rotala bus fleets much easier going forward having a uniform livery, and eventually cut out all the multitude of different liveries as at present.

More should be confirmed once Bolton transfers across to Rotala next month, Bolton will become the new Rotala NW HQ.

That certainly makes sense - thank you for the input.

One hopes this is the start of a much improved identity for the Rotala businesses up here, whilst reliability appears to have improved (not as many broken down dirty navy buses by the sides of the road), the product presentation is really rather appalling. Having the high quality maintenance facility in Bolton should improve this you would hope.

Unfortunately having an high quality maintenance facility means nothing unless your prepared to spend the amount of cash needed on veichles that need it , so hopefully they start to tidy there fleet up now with becoming a big player in the area.

Recently transferred Omnilink 30118 has appeared in another variation of fleet livery using current DBNW colours.

Looking at the comments in that photo, I wonder if that livery could just be for routes going out of preston, which may end up being operated under the DBNW licence. They recently registered two new operating centres, at the Preston Bus depot in Deepdale, and also at a coach operators site in Blackpool.

The other thing to suggest, if folk think about using the DBNW livery in Preston, do away with the Preston Bus name.

Deepdale Rd was already on the DBNW license, only Blackpool was a new addition.

These were increased & added respectively to gain a +200 license increase prior to the Bolton acquisition announcement.

A quick one how short are Preston on Tickers since some vehicles still use the Vix machines?

Has Blackpool outstation closed then, or is that now operating under the Diamond North West license?
