RE: ScotRail
On a visit to Scotland yesterday the eight diagrams in the morning on the Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh service were formed of
4 x two pair of Class 365
1 x one pair of Class 385
1 x one pair of Class 380
1 x one pair of Class 170
1 single Class 170 which was replacedin the evening peak by a pair of Class 365.

Problems with signalling west of Dumbarton meant late arrivals and short forming of some Helensburgh Central services. The 0857 from Oban due to arrive at Glasgow Queen Street at 1156 (156493) was running so late that it did not make its return to Oban. Its place was taken by 156458 which had been on the Anniesland service and 156493 dropped on to the 1227 to Anniesland.

314207/12/13 were withdrawn from service on Friday.
The five Inverclyde diagrams which 314s operate are being replaced by spare 380s which have been replaced on North Berwick services by 385s and from E & G diagrams.

RE: ScotRail
Scotrail want to introduce some HSTs in to service and then refurbish them afterwards. RMT are saying their members will refuse to work them unless they are fitted with retention toilets first. If the RMT get their way that could delay the release of 156s and 158s to Northern.

RE: ScotRail
Today is the 40th anniversary of the Class 314 units entering service. The 26th October 1979 saw 314204 and 314208 form the first passenger service.

The last 314s are expected to be withdrawn in December. They've lasted nearly as long as the 303 'Blue Trains' so let's hope for a decent send-off.

RE: ScotRail
The Class 314s have reached the end of the line. 314210 and 314216 were the last two in regular service today, the latter having the honour of working the final 314 service, the 1735 Paisley Canal - Glasgow Central. Both units have retired to Corkerhill depot and will move to Yoker sidings to await their fate. Their places on the Canal line have been taken by 380022 and 380101.

All that remains are the Class 314 farewell tours; three special return journeys from Glasgow Central throughout Wednesday 18th December. Travel aboard for a £10 donation to ScotRail's chosen charity, MND Scotland. Trips run to the likes of Ayr, Carstairs and Helensburgh, none of which have seen a 314 in years and they will even reach Cumbernauld for the first and only time. It should be a good day!
