It has been reported on BBC Scotland that the current MD of Arriva Rail North is to move to Scotland.

Look forward to hearing who will replace him at Arriva Rail North!

This will be the end of an era as Alex Hynes was MD of the previous Northern franchise.

Northern appear to have postponed most of the Manchester area improvements scheduled for December 2017 but have brought forward some of the Yorkshire & North East ones instead: http://www.eavb.co.uk/ARN1217.pdf For example, the Calder Valley to Manchester Airport service wasn't due to happen until 2019 but the Chester to Calder Valley one is no longer on the list of December 2017 improvements.

Thanks for that document. I have a few questions.
From December 2017, what would the timetable look like for

1) Liverpool Lime street to Manchester Airport via Newton-le-Willow?
2) Liverpool Lime street to Warrington Bank Quay?
3) The new Liverpool Lime street to Bradford service via Manchester Victoria?
4) Liverpool Lime street to Manchester Oxford Road via Warrington Central?
5) The new Liverpool Lime street to Manchester Airport via Warrington Central?
5) Liverpool to Wigan North Western?
6) Liverpool Lime street to Blackpool North?

About the last question, According to RTT the sunday services terminates at Preston.

1) Is it EMU or DMU?
2) What is the formation of the 0757 service from Liverpool Lime street to Blackpool North on Monday to Friday?

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North)
The Blackpool to Preston line will be closed for 3 months from December 2017 so the December 2017 timetable will show no through services to Blackpool North between Dec 17 and Mar 18. Services on routes not mentioned as having December 2017 enhancements will remain as they are until May 2018 or later. I think Liverpool to Calder Valley was a 2018 or 2019 improvement anyway but Liverpool to Manchester Airport via Warrington, Chester to Calder Valley, Mid-Cheshire line enhancements, Buxton line enhancements, Atherton line enhancements, Manchester Airport to Cumbria to Wigan (and presumably also TPE enhancements) all originally scheduled in for December 17 look to have been put back until May 2018 or later.
