What are people's thoughts on the new rules from tommorow that you don't have tax disk when you renew your car tax Will look strange from tommorow seeing some cars going around with empty tax disk holders |

A change that is well overdue, even if rather sad for sentimental reasons.  The 'doctoring' of paper discs has been a regular scam for decades, and the use of number plate recognition technology can spot the lack of a valid MOT, insurance cover and road tax all at same time. |

agreed - they ran out of proper perforated discs a while back. When we taxed my wife's car last month we just got an a4 letter with a tax disc printed on it - so just placed the whole letter on the dash. What it really means is enforcement is now by technology rather than eyeballs. |
