RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot
Apparently I've heard a rumour that due to 3047 being involved in an RTA in which a pedestrian sadly lost their life, it will be transferred somewhere else (presumably to Merseyside or another Arriva division) Is it some sort of company policy that when a vehicle is involved in a fatal accident that it is transferred elsewhere? The only vehicle I can think of that actually was transferred (to Merseyside) was 3180 which came from the Midlands after I believe it was involved in an fatal collision (and was swapped with 2609) I remember a few years ago reading an ECHO article about a bus (I believe it was a St. Helens vehicle) slammed on to avoid a collision, but in the process an elderly passenger on the bus was fatally injured, I don't remember what vehicle was involved but I don't ever recall it being transferred elsewhere afterwards... |

Arriva have done that before up in the North East too, with something like Pulsars which are easily interchangeable it's quite an honourable thing to do on their part. |

I found the article, it was 2698 that was involved in said collision https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...denly.html After that accident it remained at St. Helens until it moved to Runcorn a few months later and then went to Derby in mid-2023. Was never directly transferred related to the collision. EDIT: I also remember 4435 being involved in a pedestrian RTA in late 2020 whilst at St Helens as well, but that also never got a transfer afterwards until it moved to Speke in early 2022. Depends if Runcorn decide they will transfer the vehicle away, and wherever it comes from depends which subdivision of Arriva they'll choose exchange a Pulsar (or another vehicle) with, theres still a lot out and about! |

Does that now mean that runcon will get replaced for 3047 |
