Statute Law (Repeals) Act [[2013?]]
For some of the more interested members of the forum, a proposed Statute Law (Repeals) Act has been prepared, (albeit earlier on this year). It seeks to repeal over 295 obsolete Railway Acts, including those from Republic of Ireland and India from the Empire's earlier days. These Acts are obsolete because the railway projects that they authorised collapsed or were abandoned, often due to lack of finance. Many of the railways projects outlined in the Acts collapsed in the banking crisis of 1866. The entire act repeals over 800 Acts ranging from churches to workhouses. Anyway, olde days Merseyside features a few times. Most UK railway related ones are here: http://lawcommission.justice.gov.uk/docs...jects).pdf The full extent of the repeals can be found here: http://lawcommission.justice.gov.uk/docs...report.pdf |
