The article is misleading. Nothing has been agreed - the alleged figure came from the Torygraph who has an agenda to back Tory policy on cutting public subsidies, I'm surprised the ultra left RMT don't realise that, especially as reduced subsidies will see rollout of DOO not DCO.

RMT coming under fire for planning to strike this weekend as it's been agreed all military personnel and veterans are to get free travel across all TOCs this Saturday and Sunday to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of Word War 1.

Looks like Northern have fewer people to cover for strikes these days. On Liverpool - Wigan on Saturday, there are 1 and half hour gaps whereas on earlier strike days this was half hourly. Even worse on Liverpool - Chat Moss - Manchester where there are 3 hour gaps now (previously hourly) although of course this line does have other operators.

The loss of ATW has affected this as some of their management were covering shifts, also ATW were calling additionally at Patricroft, Sandbach etc which is not now happening.

Lack of ATW helping out is one problem. Another is the managers and office staff who are acting as stand in guards aren't willing to work 6 days per week every week with the RMT calling strikes every week.

Northern have ordered another three Class 195s - not known if they're /0s or /1s at the moment

RE: Northern (Arriva Rail North) - boby32 - 15/11/2018 14:43

The first class 195 will operate between Liverpool and Manchester Airport via Warrington and Barrow-in-Furness to Manchester Airport.
