RE: Halton Transport - MTL0201 - 26/09/2018 14:16 A Myllennium has been involved in a head on collision with a car in Childwall Valley Road near the old rail bridge, driver of the car failed a breath test. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/driver-arrested-after-head-crash-15202881 RE: Halton Transport - Y458 KNF - 26/09/2018 14:46 (26/09/2018 14:16)MTL0201 Wrote: A Myllennium has been involved in a head on collision with a car in Childwall Valley Road near the old rail bridge, driver of the car failed a breath test. At least no one has been hurt and the driver was cought red handed. RE: Halton Transport - johnluke - 26/09/2018 16:56 At least halton can claim for damages as it's clear cut who was at fault vehicle damage and whiplash for the driver and if there were passengers on board RE: Halton Transport - iMarkeh - 03/10/2018 15:45 New number 14/14A timetable: https://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/getting-around/timetables/AllTimetables/14%20Liverpool%20-%20Widnes%20(from%2021%20October%202018).pdf Interesting change I think. Reducing the Liverpool - Widnes frequency but upping Widnes - Windmill Hill. Are Halton maybe getting a lot of extra passengers with the recent Arriva changes. Single deckers are rare now on the 79C (Speke only has a handful of them anyway) and passengers especially those with kids seem to enjoy deckers on long distances. The additional capacity will be a boost for Arriva. Halton as a council company could well feel that they have a duty to serve the borough. RE: Halton Transport - Valandil - 04/10/2018 09:20 So Halton will match Arriva in frequency on this corridor again for the first time in quite a while - at least, it will on Monday to Friday anyway. There is nothing like an even headway though - I really wish they could form a QBP, but it seems it isn't going to happen. On Saturdays, Halton will be running more frequently than Arriva, and on Sundays / bank holidays less frequently. RE: Halton Transport - T42 PVM - 04/10/2018 09:27 Last thing we need is another QBP or as it should be called, how many Buses can we take off the road before someone notices. Well all I know is I used to use the 17 every day between Widnes and St Helens and it was extremely useful to be able to jump on whichever 17 came first, regardless of the company. If there had been a QBP on the 14(A)/79C corridor I would have used it too, but as the timings didn't work for me (it would require changing buses onto a different company's bus or an unreasonably long wait) I found other ways to make the journeys. RE: Halton Transport - mr t - 04/10/2018 15:46 There was never a need for 7/8 minute frequency to Hough Green most of the buses were deserted. Also most of the buses to/from Liverpool were late quite often coming in 2s so has needed extra running time for a long time same as the X1 and 79C |
