I heard on Radio Merseyside that from the 19th July Arriva are planning on reducing child fare back to half instead of 2/3rds of an Adult, also you can get a child a fare until your 19th Birthday, Also same with a My ticket
Thats correct, something to do with kids not leaving school until they are 18 from next year i think?
Arriva Buses Wales are making changes to their fares from 20th March

I think this is because from June you will be able to buy a day Solo onboard for £4.80 which wi be valid on all companies across Merseyside. The same month zones are abolished and the weekly and monthly Solos will be valid across Merseyside on all companies buses.
Can't find any articles posted online but noticed a poster on board a 263 service this morning that Arriva will be increasing fares from this Sunday (2 April).

The information mentioned in the poster only refers to the Greater Manchester:

Single fares will "generally increase by 10p". The Greater Manchester Weekly ticket will rise by 50p from £14.50 to £15 with the child weekly staying at half the price, rising 25p from £7.25 to £7.50.

There's no change to the Greater Manchester Day ticket, the North West & Wales weekly or the £10 weekly ticket for services 10 or 534/541. However, the North West day ticket, priced £5.30, will be replaced by the North West & Wales ticket, which remains at £5.50.
Noticed a poster on an Arriva St Helens Bus as well, Merseyside single fare will go to 2 pound 30, child 1 pound 20, Southport weekly ticket is going up to £16 and the Wirral plus ticket is replaced by a 4 pound 60 merseyside ticket
Merseytravel tender fares are going up too to £1.90 and 90p from the 3rd April.
This is fairly late notice from Arriva as they usually have the notices up about a fortnight ahead of any changes.
