Scania/Enviro400 PX12 EFD (15823) is now back at Preston depot after its time with Stagecoach Wirral; it was on the 2A this morning (seen it in Ormskirk Bus Station at about 07:40).
A fairly rare allocation saw Optare Versa 25232 PX08 FNE operating the 2X/X2 today.

Fairly rare? Very rare, I'd say! Laugh

Me and a fellow forum member are planning to have a day out in the Lakes this Saturday and we have planned to use the X8 service, which is operated by Chorley depot. (X8 Chorley – Preston – Windermere – Ambleside – Grasmere – Keswick). Last time we had the pleasure of a nasty Scania Enviro400 from Ambleside to Preston. I am just wondering if any of you guys know whether these are the norm on this seasonal service?
I have seen photos of ALX400 Dennis Tridents on the X8 in 2012 so fingers crossed that's what I might have!Smile
Thanks

Anything with a tachograph can be used, though the Scanias are preferred as they're built for that kind of work.
Yes, it is always Scania now. Preston used to operate the X8 but Chorley run it now, they only have Scanias fitted with a tacho.
Thanks for the info Smile
Stagecoach's Travel Shop at Preston bus station has now closed with immediate effect. Timetable information and lost property is now obtainable from the Inspector's office (Lancashire CC travel shop also has timetable information). However, tickets can no longer be bought from the Travel Shop with passengers advised to contact Stagecoach for alternatives.

Chorley's Travel Shop remains open.
